Chapter 940 Painkillers
When Lucian said there was something wrong with his water, Rosalie did smell a faint odor in the water.
That odor was produced by a type of bacteria when it comes into contact with water. But the problem was, that kind of bacteria could only survive in a laboratory. If it weren’t man-made, it would not be possible for it to appear in such a mountain setting.
Therefore, Rosalie’s first reaction was to check if there were anyone other than them around. But, the grass field they were at was unobstructed, and there was no one else around but them. Rosalie did not think it was caused by bacteria, but thought it was just a coincidence.
Unexpectedly, somebody had placed that kind of bacteria in the little ones’ cups.
Rosalie’s heart twitched as she thought of the symptoms that the bacteria will produce when it comes in contact with the human body.
“Mummy, it hurts…” Nox finally could not take the pain anymore, and held her hand pitifully.
Too bad that the little one was in such severe pain, he grabbed her hand loosely and quickly released it, he had no strength at all.
As she saw the little boy’s hand that was about to fall to the ground, Rosalie grabbed onto his hand and held it in distress.
‘It’s okay, it’s okay, Mommy will help you get better soon.” Rosalie murmured nervously while touching the little guy’s hand soothingly.
She had seen patients exposed to the bacteria in clinical trials. An adult of nearly 1.8 meters tall tossed and turned on the hospital bed and almost lost consciousness in pain because of this bacteria. Not to mention the two little ones in front of him. 1
Rosalie was so distressed that she could hardly breathe just thinking about the pain they were suffering at the moment.
Lucian saw that his mother was a little panicked, and stretched out a small hand and grabbed Rosalie’s other hand.
“Mommy, do you want to give my brother and little sister any medicine?” Although he was young, he often showed amazing calmness.
The elder boy’s stomach was a little uncomfortable, it was still within the range he could endure.
He also felt sorry for his younger brother and younger sister, but he knew even more that it was useless for him to be anxious.
‘Mommy is already worried about this. If I panic as well, there will be no calm person here who can control the situation.’
From the little boy’s reminder, Rosalie snapped back to her senses, lowered her head and rummaged in the medicine box. She remembered that clinically, there was no modern medicine to cure this bacteria. She could only rely on traditional medicine.
Modern medicine can temporarily relieve their pain, but that would require very strong painkillers. That level of pain reliever was not something they would prepare in a first aid box.
After all, under normal circumstances, one must go to the hospital if the pain was severe to that point.
After a frantic search, Rosalie could not find the medicine she needed. She paused with a terrible expression.
On the ground, Nox and Estie were still rolling in pain.
Estie pursed her lips and silently shed tears. The little girl was hurting so much, but was still worried that her discomfort would affect their camping trip.
Rosalie could not help but treambled when she saw the little girl’s forbearance. 1
“Lucian, help Mommy sort out the herbs that I’ve picked up.”
Lucian agreed without hesitation.
He grew up by Rosalie’s side and spent more than half of his time in the research institute.
He was familiar with the treatment methods of various traditional medicines..
The little boy quickly washed the herbs, then carefully removed the incomplete parts, leaving only the dark green stems.
Rosalie took two leaves from above, and found a few medicinal herbs in the medicine box that she always kept. Then she got up, walked into the tent and rummaged around.
